Only a few months into 2025 and already it seems like we're off to a windy start! A gentle breeze can be great (especially in Summer!) but what do you do when gentle turns out to be not so gentle.

Tip #1 - Go With The Flow (Literally)

Leading up the big day you've been making plans for decor, but it's important not to get too hung up on the specifics until the actual day of the wedding. In these cases, having good vendors can make all the difference in the world. If your sign can't go where you originally planned because of wind, that's okay! Never be afraid to ask your vendor team for suggestions in these situations, odds are, they have the solution!

Tip #2 - Beauty Blunders

Hair and makeup are a big part in making you feel like a bride, but it's important that those Pinterest perfect ideas can hold up for a full day.

"If it's going to be super windy, I would recommend doing an updo rather than a hair down look. This way you won't have to worry about your hair getting caught in your lashes and lip gloss! " – Ava Bandy of Ava Bandy Hairstylist @avabandyhair

Tip #3 - To Veil or Not to Veil

A veil can be an important part of your look, but when it distracts from your "I Do's", it may be better to ditch it for ceremony. You can always wear it for portraits or if it is a sentimental veil, your photographer can include them in flat lay photos beforehand. In any case, have your hairstylist pin it in really well and test it out before it's ceremony time. They also sell veil weights on amazon if there is a light breeze that day!

Tip #4 - Switch It Up

Traditionally there are certain sides to stand on for the ceremony, but if the wind is messing up your look, it's okay to switch sides to let the wind work for you and not against you.

Tip #5 - Lean On Your Vendors

Having vendors you trust is a key part in any wedding day, but especially when you need some extra advice.

"Embrace it! Wind can create super cinematic imagery with movement and emotion. Hair can always be fixed and touched up, so don't be afraid! If it's too much, take photos close to the venue wall to block some wind or opt for an inside backup plan." - Jenna Salemie of Jenna Lynn Photography @jenna.lynnphotography

And Finally...

Wind, rain, snow, or perfect weather, at the end of the day you're going to be married to your best friend! The day is what you make of it, so just roll with it and everything else with be a breeze.
